Mexican-Peruvian Dance Workshop at  Charlestown Boys and Girls

The Dance Camera Action Program succesfuly presented the Mexican and Peruvian workshop graduation show on Thursday June 12, 2008.

 

The event was well attended by the students parents, friends and the Chalestown club members and staff.

 

Dancers captivated the audience by dancing a variety of dance styles from the states of Guerrero, Nayarit, Chihuahua and Chiapas Mexico as well as the Peruvian styles Festejo and Huayno and some Merengue dance from Dominican Republic. Students wore beautiful and exclusive costumes provided by the community Center for the Arts and Ballet Monte Alban.

 

Dance, Camera Action! introduces youth ages 10-17 years old to Latin American culture through dance and related art disciplines. Youth will participate in classes based on age—10 – 13 year olds and 14 – 17 year olds—twice a week.

El pasado jueves 12 de junio de 2008 se llevo acabo exitosamente el show de graduación del programa Dance Camera Action, en Boys and Girls Club de Charlestown.

Participaron los estudiantes Jean Carlo Santana, Janise Queen, Alondra Tirado, Anjel Lennix, Jocelys Vidal, Iveliz Vélez, Dulce Medina, Taylor-Rose Adams, Cesar Vega y Noe Arana y la participación especial de las chicas del Ballet Monte Alban, Kristin Wallace, Cynthia López y Estefania Giraldo. En el programa se incluyeron bailes de México de la región de Nayarit, Chiapas, Guerrero y Chihuaha, no podía faltar el Merengue y por supuesto representando a Sur America el Festejo y el Huayno bailes del Perú otro atractivo fueron las hermosas vestimentas que adornaban la gracia de las chicas y caballeros mientras bailaban.
